Meghan Allen
Vice President of Government Affairs
Meghan Allen is the Vice President of Government Affairs for United Space Alliance (USA). Based in Washington, D.C., she has more than 15 years of experience in civil and national space issues, with particular expertise as an advocate in support of NASA's human spaceflight programs, including the Space Shuttle, International Space Station, and next-generation human spaceflight systems. She is responsible for overseeing all USA activities involving Congress, NASA, the Executive Branch and foreign embassies, reporting directly to USA's President and Chief Executive Officer. She was named to this position in September of 2011.
Allen's work at USA encompasses managing the company's government relations messaging and communications, planning and executing legislative strategy, supervising the D.C. office budget and consultants, partnering with other aerospace industry advocates, and administering the company PAC.
From 2005 to 2011, Allen served as Director of Legislative Affairs for USA's Washington, D.C. office. In that position, she was responsible for managing all company activities involving Congress, and provided legislative analysis and action planning to ensure a broad understanding of issues associated with our civil space program.
Prior to joining USA, Allen was Director of Congressional Relations for GenCorp/Aerojet, where she was responsible for overseeing all Washington-based activities involving Congress, NASA, and the Department of Defense, with a particular emphasis on environmental issues.
Other government service roles include working for U.S. Senator Alfonse D'Amato (R-NY), handling constituent relations; managing members at the Republican National Committee; serving as a staff member on the Clinton-Gore environmental task force and working for a Department of Energy contractor.
Allen holds a bachelor of science in Economics and Public Administration from George Mason University. While at George Mason, she played on the school's nationally-ranked women's soccer team. Originally a native of Saratoga Springs, NY, Allen now resides in Leesburg, VA, with her husband and three children. In her spare time she volunteers as a youth soccer coach and competes in triathlons.
